Key Insight
High permanence, but lifecycle accounting is essential.
Industrial carbon capture credits in our database achieve some of the highest permanence scores in our portfolio, given the geological or material durability of storage. However, the net removal benefit is highly sensitive to the energy source powering the capture equipment. Credits linked to renewable-powered capture consistently achieve higher net ratings than those drawing from the grid.
